The 150th anniversary of Sergei Rachmaninoff was celebrated in the capital of Colombia, the Russian Foreign Ministry reports. The concert dedicated to the 150th anniversary of the great musician took place on Saturday, August, 26. Representatives of authorities, foreign diplomats, entrepreneurs and cultural figures gathered in the hall of the National Museum of Colombia.

The works of Sergei Rachmaninoff were performed by musicians from Russia and Colombia.

Russian Ambassador Nikolai Tavdumadze is sure that Rachmaninoff's contribution to the development of world art cannot be overestimated. The high-ranking diplomat recalled that Rachmaninoff always felt his connection with Russia, even while staying abroad.

The concert was organized by the Embassy of the Russian Federation together with the Anita May Cultural Foundation and the museum administration.
