On 3 November 2015, on the eve of the National Unity Day, the Russkiy Mir Foundation will host the traditional Russian World Assembly. The theme of the event is “Eternal Values of the Russian Literature”..
This year, which was declared the Year of Literature by Russian President Vladimir Putin, the event will be held in Suzdal, the pearl of the Golden Ring of Russia, a town that has preserved its unique monuments of history, culture and ancient Russian architecture. The assembly will bring together Russkiy Mir Foundation representatives from more than 70 countries from every continent. They will discuss such relevant issues as “The Values of the Russian World”, “Russian Literature: Eternal Questions”, “The Ways of the Russian Civilization”, “Languages of the Russian World Literatures”, “Russian and Foreign Publishers and their Role in Preserving the Russian Cultural Standing” and “Reading and Literature: What to Teach?” The participants to the event will include well-known political and public figures, heads of ministries and agencies, representatives of national and foreign associations of Russian language and literature educators, Russian compatriot organizations, scholars, educators, writers, diplomats, members of the clergy and journalists. The opening ceremony will take place at 10:00 a.m. on 3 November 2015 at the forum hall of the Nikolayevsky Posad hotel.
