The 150th anniversary of Sergei Rachmaninoff is celebrated in Sicily, TASS reports.

Concerts and master classes are held in Erice to celebrate the birth of the composer, conductor and pianist. Students from Italy and Russia are taking part in it. The organizer is the Ettore Majorana Foundation for Scientific Culture with the assistance of the representative office of Rossotrudnichestvo and the Gnessin Russian Academy of Music.

According to Daria Pushkova, who heads the Russian House in Rome, she always wanted to cooperate with various Italian regions.

She thanked the foundation for its dedication to the main principle of its work and believing that science, culture, art belong to all mankind and have no boundaries.
