US authorities claimed that Russian diplomats should leave the Russian Consulate General in Seattle until April 25, TASS reports.

According to one of its employees Khalit Aissin, the access into the building will stop working as early as April 1. He has reminded that the residence is a diplomatic property of Russia.

There is no information on where exactly Russians expelled from US will continue their service, it is not clear where the Seattle archives would be stored.

All questions on the consulate operations must be addressed to the Russian Embassies in Washington, New York or Houston.

Note that apart from closing down the consulate general, Washington is sending out 60 Russian diplomats who should leave the country in a week. 20 of these diplomats are employees of the Russia's Permanent Representative Office to UN in New York.

As the Russkiy Mir Foundation has reported, last year official Washington demanded to close down the consulate general of the Russian Federation in San Fransisco as well as Russian embassy offices in New York and Washington. This was a certain kind of retaliation measure against cutting down the number of American staff in Russia.
