Director and Artistic Director of the Mariinsky Theater Valery Gergiev has become the new General Director of the Bolshoi Theater for the next five years, TASS reports.

The corresponding order was signed by Prime Minister Mikhail Mishustin.

Earlier, Bolshoi Theater Director Vladimir Urin said goodbye to the Bolshoi Theater staff, stating that November 30 was his last day of work.
