Deputy Prime Minister of the Russian Federation Olga Golodets is sure that hard times between Russia and the US have gone and now it is time for development of contacts in all the spheres, in the cultural sphere in particular, according to RIA Novosti. Golodets has noted that that even during times when the Russian-American relations were at their worst, Russian and American organizations took part in the joint projects, so now the relations must develop further on. Stagings of the Bolshoi Theatre in tandem with the US partners are a good example of such work. “We plan large-scale music programs, so our contacts should be intensified”, Deputy Prime Minister said.

Starting 2014, the Swan’s Lake, Don Kikhot and Spartak were performed at the American stages. In 2017 the Lincoln Center hosted an anniversary of Jewels ballet by George Balanchine. Stars from Russia, the US and France took part in celebrations at the grand stage. Olga Golodets has noted that grand joint musical programs and cultural projects await spectators in the closest future.

As the Russkiy Mir Foundation reported earlier, the day before the Russian – US summit, Russian President Vladimir Putin called for revival of Russian – American ties in the field of social organizations as well as in the cultural – humanitarian sphere.
