The main prize of the short format video competition organised by Nespresso Talents at the Cannes Film Festival went to 23-year-old Russian Klim Tukaev. His short named Postman was chosen from almost thousand competitors, Rossiyskaya Gazeta reports.

Nespresso Talents for sixth year empowers filmmakers to tell a story through the format of vertical video (9/16). An International jury had to choose three best short films from a shortlist of 30. Each winner will received funds for their film career and also an exclusive trip to the 2021 Cannes Film Festival, where the selected short films are announced and celebrated. The three authors of the selected videos will also receive mentoring sessions in Cannes with La Semaine de la Critique, a parallel section of the Cannes Film Festival that focuses on discovering new talents.

Klim Tukaev and his colleagues Jan Kellner (Bagman, 2nd prise) and Nicolina Sterbet (Speaking in flowers, 3d prize) to be applauded at the main stage of Cannes.

There were no restrictions at the video competition, apart of the time which should not exceed 3 minutes.

Tukaev’s short tells the story of a postman living in a post-apocalyptic world. He continues delivering old-school letters to abandoned houses in an empty city, until he meets another living soul.

According to the director, he learned about the competition a week before the deadline. It took just few days to complete the flick which was shot 70 km away of Moscow. Tukayev's previous work became the best experimental film at the British Feel The Reel festival.
