The Olympic curling has been conquered by Russians for the first time in history. Russian curlers Anastasia Bryzgalova and Aleksander Krushelnitchkii won a bronze medal in mixed doubles in PyeongChang, according to TASS. The sportsmen managed to overcome the Norway’s pair Kristin Skaslien and Magnus Nedregotten in the match for the third place with 8:4 score.

This was their second meeting. Bryzgalova and Krushelnitchkii have also left behind the pair from Norway with minimum overbalance of one score in the preliminary stage.

Spectators flooded all the tribunes to the full, despite the match started early in the morning. All curlers supported the Russian team with noisy cheers and applauses.

The Head of the World Curling Federation Kate Caithness watched the match. She has highly evaluated the skills of Russian sportsmen and expressed assuredness that this pair has long-term perspectives.

The Olympic athletes from Russia have three awards in their collection already. The bronze medal was won by Semen Elistratov for the short track speed skating. The team figure skating brought silver to the collection.
