Leo Tolstoy mural was installed in a school in Cuautitlan, Mexico. The mural's unveiling was accompanied by the presentation of Tolstoy's publications from the Russian side, and an evening featuring a screening of Anna Karenina film added to the commemoration, as reported by the Russian House telegram channel.

The mural portraying the elderly Leo Tolstoy against a train backdrop was a gift from the Russian House in Mexico City. It is symbolizing interethnic friendship and admiration for Tolstoy's works. The Russian institution also donated Tolstoy's books to the school.

Artist Jesus Rezo, who created the mural, spoke to students about his inspiration during the unveiling.

It is worth mentioning that a month ago Russian compatriots living in Mexico have discussed issues of preserving Russian culture and promoting the Russian language. More than 50 people representing various public associations of the Russian-speaking diaspora gathered in Mexico City for the annual conference, organized by the Coordinating Council of Organizations of Russian Compatriots (CCORC).
