Russia and India established Leo Tolstoy and Mahatma Gandhi Center

Russia and India established the Leo Tolstoy and Mahatma Gandhi Cultural and Educational Center in New Delhi. The signing of the relevant documents took place in Moscow. The action plan for the new center has already been drawn up, according to the International Affairs magazine.

It is noted that the center has already begun functioning, a program of events and projects for implementation has been created, the parties are starting to exchange school delegations. Earlier in May, an exhibition dedicated to Russian and Indian thinkers opened in a Moscow school. In the future, it is planned to open the Great BRICS Teachers museum in school No. 1409.

The creation of the center was the result of a large-scale work to develop ties between students in Russia and India. For example, at the end of the year, the BRICS Peoples Choose Life program gathered over 2,000 participants. Within the program, the participants the philosophical works by Gandhi and Tolstoy.

The event in Moscow, where documents on the establishment of the Center were signed, was attended by representatives of Russian ministries and departments, Indian diplomats, heads of educational institutions of the two countries.
