Exhibition about Leo Tolstoy to be shown in China

The Leo Tolstoy State Museum and the Shanghai History Museum signed an agreement of intent to cooperate in the field of exhibition activities. The agreement was reached on the eve of the 195th anniversary of the Russian classic, the press service of the Russian museum said.

The document was signed on August, 22 by Sergey Arkhangelov, general director of the Leo Tolstoy State Museum, and representatives of the Shanghai Historical Museum. It is reported that the parties intend to sign a Memorandum of Strategic Cooperation next year.

In 2024, Russia and China will celebrate 75 years of diplomatic relations. The named museums of the two countries are planning to jointly prepare a traveling exhibition for display in China. It will contribute to the cultural dialogue between the peoples of the two countries.

The exhibition is planned to be held from September next year to February, 2025, and by the end of 2026, the parties plan to bring a number of expositions dedicated to Leo Tolstoy to different cities of China. The itinerary of the tour will be compiled by the museums of the two countries.
