Russian volunteers and rescuers saved two truck drivers from Iran, whose heavy trucks were stuck near Tver in the first days of the new year, Komsomolskaya Pravda reports.

The Iranians were transporting trucks with cargo from St. Petersburg to their homeland and stopped near Tver due to frost. Volunteers from the SOVA search and rescue team found out about the disaster from other drivers who noticed stuck heavy trucks.

Volunteers came to the aid of Iranians who had been freezing on the highway for more than two days, without food or water.

The Russians gave the drivers hot tea and fed them borscht, while a local craftsman managed to start the engine of one of the heavy trucks. Volunteers called rescuers, who used heat guns to warm the engines, and the Iranians were able to continue their journey.
