A group of Russian servicemen returned home from Ukrainian captivity, the telegram channel of the Russian Ministry of Defense reports. As a result of a complex negotiation process and with the mediation of the United Arab Emirates, 248 fighters were returned.

The department clarified that all those released are getting medical and psychological help.

Ombudswoman Tatyana Moskalkova noted that the soldiers returned home thanks to the work of the President of the Russian Federation, the leadership of the Ministry of Defense and the FSB of Russia, deputies and senators. She added that 75 military personnel were returned without exchange - 173 Ukrainian prisoners of war went to Ukraine. Editor-in-Chief of the Rossiya Segodnya media group Margarita Simonyan clarified that 75 Russians were exchanged for five militants from Azov, banned in the Russian Federation, who returned to Ukraine last summer.
