Russia donated equipment for rescuers to Cuba

Cuban firefighters received special equipment, the telegram channel of the Russian Embassy reports. The ceremony of handing over the shipment of humanitarian aid took place on December, 27. Its participants gathered at the site of the regional Russian-Cuban center for training fire and rescue specialists. 

The cargo was delivered to the island with the help of the International Civil Defense Organization.

Russian Ambassador Victor Coronelli noted that relations between Russia and Cuba are at a high level, he hopes that they will continue to be strengthened in the coming year.

Earlier, the Russian-Cuban center for training fire and rescue specialists received foam extinguishing vehicles, airfield fire-fighting equipment, tank trucks and other equipment.

More than 1,000 firefighters and rescuers were trained at the Russian-Cuban Center, which has been operating in Cuba for almost ten years. It was opened in 2014. During this time, almost 100 thematic courses and master classes for Cubans were held there. In addition to Cubans, representatives of other Latin American and Caribbean countries also study at the center. The Ministry of Emergency Situations assured that they plan to develop the center and expand its capabilities.
