The Ministry of Education and Science of the Russian Federation reported that almost 70,000 applications were received for the Open Doors International Olympiad from participants in 190 countries.

The Open Doors Olympiad, organized by the Global Universities Association with support from Rossotrudnichestvo and the Ministry of Education and Science of the Russian Federation, plays a key role in drawing talented individuals worldwide to pursue studies in Russia. The Olympiad, conducted in Russian and English, is open to participants from any foreign country.

It covers 14 subject profiles, including the newly added Urbanism and Civil Engineering. Open Doors uses a "one window" system, making it the first project in Russia to attract foreign applicants to graduate and postgraduate programs.

The first round ended on December 10, with results expected on December 22. The winners will receive full scholarships for master's or postgraduate programs at their chosen universities.
