Two Russian planes are ready to pick up Russian citizens who will leave the Gaza Strip, TASS reported. The Il-76s are standing by at the airport of the Egyptian capital, an airport spokesman said. Last week they brought humanitarian aid for the residents of Gaza.
Russian Ambassador Anatoly Viktorov stated that extensive efforts are ongoing with Egyptian authorities to coordinate the evacuation of Russians and citizens from CIS countries in the Gaza Strip.

The evacuation is set to commence once Cairo opens the Rafah border crossing, situated between Egypt and the Gaza Strip. Upon receiving the signal from Egypt, embassy staff will initiate the evacuation, utilizing various means of transportation.

As we reported earlier, Russian Foreign Ministry said that the issue of evacuating Russian citizens from the Gaza Strip remained unresolved due to Tel Aviv's position. Maria Zakharova, the ministry's spokesperson, expressed optimism that Israeli authorities would soon provide the necessary authorization for the evacuation.
