Russian President Vladimir Putin takes part in a meeting of the CIS Council of Heads of State in the Kyrgyz capital on Friday, October 13. Its participants have gathered first in a small group, then members of delegations will join them, TASS reported.

Vladimir Putin arrived in Kyrgyzstan the day earlier for an official visit. During talks with Kyrgyz President Sadyr Zhaparov, they discussed the 20th-anniversary celebration of the Russian military airbase Kant in Kyrgyzstan and received updates on the CSTO exercises Unbreakable Brotherhood - 2023. Putin also met with Azerbaijani President Ilham Aliyev, addressing issues concerning Nagorno-Karabakh and Russian peacekeepers. Another bilateral meeting with Tajik President Emomali Rakhmon is scheduled for October 13.

Today the CIS leaders, including Russia's Vladimir Putin, Kyrgyz leader Sadyr Zhaparov and counterparts from Azerbaijan, Belarus, Kazakhstan, Tajikistan, Turkmenistan, and Uzbekistan, gather to discuss the year's results, reinforce cooperation, and outline future tasks with a significant focus on discussing the global and regional agenda.

Vladimir Putin is set to present his vision for the key directions of Russia's CIS presidency in 2024. Moscow's main priority is the expansion of cooperation and deepening integration in various tracks, aiming to enhance collaboration across all spheres. Security in the CIS holds special attention during the meeting. The outcomes are expected to include the signing of a document establishing the International Organization for the Russian Language in the CIS, along with several other agreements.

Let us remember, Foreign ministers of Commonwealth of Independent States countries have endorsed the creation of an international organization for the Russian language.
