The text, which mentions the Ukrainian conflict, will no longer be used in the school exam program in Cyprus, TASS reports. The Ministry of Education, Culture, Sports and Youth of the country noted that it offends the feelings of school students and their parents. Parents of Russian-speaking students addressed the educational department with a corresponding request.

Children from Russian-speaking families complained that during a Greek language exam, they were offered to analyze a text that mentioned that Moscow was trying to ''overthrow the government in Ukraine and seize'' the country’s territories.

The department explained that they had nothing to do with the content of the text, and it got into the text as a fragment of a piece by an American journalist. The ministry hastened to assure that they had nothing to do with politics.

The head of the Coordinating Council of Russian Compatriots in Cyprus, Dmitry Apraksin, stressed that today the situation in the world is so difficult that it is important to be very careful not to touch the feelings of representatives of different nationalities, cultures and social groups.
