Russophobia in the UK has not disappeared, it has simply become disguised, says Russian Ambassador Andrey Kelin. According to him, anti-Russian sentiments are manifesting themselves, but not as openly as before, TASS reports.

However, some cases are very telling. One of the egregious ones was the tennis tournament at Wimbledon. The diplomat recalled that the organizers of the tournament demanded that Belarusian and Russian athletes condemned Russia's actions.

The authorities are holding conversations with Russian performers, demanding that they refuse to support Moscow, the ambassador notes.

Physicians who worked with Russian patients found themselves in the same situation. The Russians are no longer accepted in some clinics.

Kelin pointed out that all these facts have nothing to do with the principles of democracy. On the contrary, this is outright discrimination based on nationality, the diplomat specified.

He noted that Russian citizens in Britain are currently "quite rare guests", since there are no flights between the countries.
