The Canadian media do not cease to spread news about Russia which fail to comply with the facts, Vladimir Proskuryakov, Charge d'Affaires of the Russian Federation in Canada, believes. According to him, Russophobia has become very widespread in the country, TASS reports.

According to the diplomat, Russia is constantly being slandered. Vladimir Proskuryakov noted that there is not a word of truth in how the military special operation in Ukraine is covered by the media. All arguments of the Russian side are distorted. Canadian reporters talk about the crimes committed by the Ukrainian military against the citizens of their own country, but blame the Russian army for them, said Proskuryakov.

He noted that Canada is very careful to ensure that no other opinion gets into its information space. The embassy is not allowed to publish its news in the local media on any topic, even those related to food security.

At the same time, the diplomat added that the embassy does not notice any strong pressure. Of course, every day there are some sort of actions with Ukrainian flags and some malicious banners at the entrance, but usually no more than a dozen people join them, he explained.
