Russia plans to introduce grant application admission for foreigner students

Russia plans to introduce another form of admission for international students, RIA Novosti reports. According to the deputy head of Rossotrudnichestvo Pavel Shevtsov, the grant form may appear already this year. Now this proposal is being studied by the Government of the Russian Federation.

This initiative will attract more foreign prepared, talented students with high motivation to study in Russia, the representative of Rossotrudnichestvo believes. He expressed confidence that some of these students will be interested not only in studies, but also in working in Russia.

It is planned that 23 thousand foreign students to be accepted by Russian universities the next new academic year. This is five thousand more students than in 2020.

The admission for foreigners to start earlier go give them more time to get acquainted with educational system in Russia.
