Six Russian universities enter top-100 of ARWU ranking

Six Russian universities entered the top-100 of the best educational institutions in the world according to the Shanghai Global Ranking ofAcademic Subjects  (ARWU), TASS reports.

The rating has been compiled since 2009. This year, experts analyzed more than 4,000 higher education institutions in different countries, evaluating them in 54 areas. The rating included 1,800 universities from 90 countries and regions of the planet. Among them, seventeen Russian higher education institutions are represented in almost 30 subject areas.

The best of Russian universities was Lomonosov Moscow State University, the training of specialists in physic allowed it to be included in the 51–75 group. St. Petersburg State University appeared in the same positions in the Automation and Control section, it also entered the 76–100 group in Mining and Mining Engineering section. In addition, ITMO University, the National Research Technological University and the Belgorod State National Research University were among the top-100.

The leading positions in the list are taken by American universities, they are followed by educational institutions in China.
