The international Birds of Remembrance action was launched in Vologda, Vologda.RF reports. Participants in the action are lace masters from Russian regions and other countries. They create images of cranes on a fragment of the Vologda artist Irina Zubareva.

Then all the work will be combined into one art object. Today, more than a hundred cranes from Moscow and Moscow Region, from the Arkhangelsk and Nizhny Novgorod Regions, and other cities and regions have “flocked” to Vologda.

The Lace Museum explained that about 600 lace makers planned to join the action. Craftswomen from Australia, the USA, Germany, Belarus confirmed their participation. The action dedicated to the anniversary of the victory in WWII is aimed at strengthening friendly ties between residents of different countries. It is designed to emphasize the important role of each person’s personal contribution to maintaining peace on the planet.

The presentation of the new art object was planned to be held as part of the next Vita Lace festival. But due to restrictions aimed at combating coronavirus infection, the event was postponed until next year. Those who wish still have time to join the action, work will be accepted until July 1.
