Six Russian universities are among the most international universities in the world according to the British Times Higher Education (THE) rating. The list includes 170 universities from around the planet. The leader among Russian universities is Tomsk State University, which took 103rd place in the overall table, Lomonosov Moscow State University is on the line below, the Rossiyskaya Gazeta newspaper reports.

The Moscow Institute of Physics and Technology, Novosibirsk State University, the Higher School of Economics and St. Petersburg State University were also included in the prestigious list. The compilers of the rating took into account several criteria - in addition to the number of foreign students and staff, the number of joint scientific publications of representatives of the university and scientists from abroad was taken into account.

The universities of China and Switzerland were among the best universities in the world according to these criteria. On the rating website of THE, the company’s website says that universities are global institutions by their nature, bringing together students and scientists from around the world, which positively affects the solution of the most pressing problems of the globe. Representatives of the organization consider studying in foreign universities a useful experience for students.
