NATO’s call to hand over control of the Crimean Peninsula to Kiev is an empty talk, Russian Foreign Ministry spokeswoman Maria Zakharova is sure. According to her, the position of Moscow on the issue of Crimea is known to everyone, and it has not changed, RT reports.

On the eve of the meeting of the Ukraine-NATO Commission, which was held in Kiev, the North Atlantic Alliance called on Moscow to return Crimea to the control of Ukrainian authorities. In addition, the Western military organization did not like that Russia was increasing its military presence on the peninsula.

NATO also demanded the admission of international observers to Crimea. In turn, the State Duma deputy Anton Morozov expressed the conviction that such words can be considered "direct interference in the internal affairs of the country." And foreigners do not have any difficulties to visit the peninsula, the politician assured. Many guests from abroad have already visited Crimea, including members of the European Parliament.
