The coordinators of the Immortal Regiment action from 55 countries gathers at the Memory of the Winners conference, RIA Novosti reports. Its work begins on Wednesday, September 25, in the capital of Serbia. It is dedicated to the celebrations of the anniversary of the liberation of Belgrade from the Nazis.

A forum of this kind is held for the first time. Its participants will tell about their experience in conducting the procession. An important topic will be the issues of counteracting distortions of historical truth. The focus will also be on the problem of promoting the action among young people from different countries.

Natalia Shadrina, deputy head of the executive committee of the Immortal Regiment movement, recalled that today there were fewer living witnesses and participants in historical events. In her opinion, the main task is to convey to youth the truth about the Great Patriotic War.

Forum guests will be invited to the performance of the famous Russian actor Vasily Lanovoy. The cultural program will continue with the screening of Happiness in an Envelope feature, which tells about human destinies through front-line letters. An exhibition of historical photographs dedicated to the struggle of the Yugoslav army with German troops will open.

The representative of the Immortal Regiment, Sergei Glushchenko, said that Belgrade was not accidentally chosen as the venue for the forum, the local population there actively supported the movement. Although Russophobia is gaining defense in Western European countries, this does not prevent residents of different countries from joining the international rally. No matter how hard the authorities try to fight the Immortal Regiment, they cannot stop it. The main thing in this action is the personal history of each person, and the personal factor gives the movement the opportunity to grow, develop and attract more and more people.
