WW2 Victory festival launches in India

Festival dedicated to coming anniversary of WW2 Victory started in Indian city Thiruvananthapuram, Rossotrudnichestvo website informs. Celebrational actions and events are planned in many cities of Keral until next May.

Russian Center of Science and Culture in Thiruvananthapuram planned historical quizes and contests on military topic for students and schoolkids. 

Photography exhibition and book publishing, thematic film festivals and seminars are going to be organised.  

The Head of Russian Counsulate in Chennai Oleg Avdeev underlined during the festival opening that USSR lost huge number of lives during World War Two, and that the festival aims to preserve historical memory. It will help to teach younger generations about the great sacrifice and great deed of Red Army. Victory over Fascism has changed political situation in all the world. 

The member of Indian parliament A. Sampath has noted that contemporary generation has to be thankful to millions Russians who protected the world from Fascism.
