Vladimir Putin to hold important talks at BRICS summit

Russian President Vladimir Putin is setting off to South Africa, RIA Novosti reports. He is going to take part at the BRICS summit on July, 26 in Johannesburg. Several bilateral talks are scheduled for the Russian leader at the summit.

According to Russian Presidential Aide Yuri Ushakov, Vladimir Putin is to negotiate with his South African counterpart Cyril Ramaphosa. After the negotiations, several important documents will be signed including an agreement on cooperation in the field of agriculture. Another document concerning usage of water resources will also be signed.

An informal meeting with Chairman of China People’s Republic Xi Jinping is scheduled at the dining table.

The agenda will end up by a meeting with the Indian Prime Minister Narendra Modi. 

Another meeting, which was referred to as an important one, will take place with the Turkish leader Recep Tayyip Erdogan. The heads of the two countries meet and talk over the phone on a constant basis continuing a mutual dialogue, as per the Russian Presidential Aide. This year the number of their contacts exceeded 15. 

There will also be talks with leaders of Zambia and Angola. They are to meet Vladimir Putin for the first time. During the meeting with Argentinian President, preparation for the G20 Summit will be discussed. The summit is scheduled for the end of this autumn in Buenos Aires.
