Moscow State University and Hokkaido University to coordinate Russian and Japanese Educational Committees’ operations

Lomonosov Moscow State University is to coordinate operations of Educational Committees of Russia and Japan. The corresponding committees were founded at the University Associations of the two countries, TASS informs.

Rectors from 50 universities of both countries took part in the 7th Forum held in Japan. Besides, Sapporo housed the first meeting of University Association of Japan and Russia. The main tasks of the new structure are joint scientific research projects, remote studying projects for students and teachers, new educational exchange programs.

Sadovnichiy remarked at the meeting that it was high to cut to the chase. In particular, combined studying labs will be established in the nearest future, common bases of scientific data will be gathered. One of the decisions made during the meeting is appointment of Lomonosov Moscow State University and Hokkaido University to coordinate activities of Educational Committees of the Association.

The meeting participants hope that this meeting will kick off the students’ exchange programs between Russia and Japan.

The next meeting of the University Rectors is scheduled for 2019.
