At the eve of the Victory Day, the Polish society Kursk announced the beginning of the Soviet soldiers’ cemetery restoration. The organization’s leader mentioned that most of the constructions needed replacement. For instance, Kursk is going to replace the memorial to the Red Army soldiers. The design has been already done. This is going to be a three-meter high memorial of the gray granite. Kursk has already asked the authorities’ permission to restore the cemetery and the memorial.

As previously reported by the  Russky Mir Foundation, in April Kursk society renovated another cemetery in the Poland province, where 600 Soviet soldiers who perished while freeing Poland from Fascism are buried. Initially the names of just 90 out the 600 soldiers’ names were known, but Kursk activists helped to find many other names bringing the total number to 380 people.
