The Kremlin called Tallinn's decision to get rid of the monuments of Soviet soldiers-liberators outrageous, TASS reports. According to the Putin's spokesperson, Dmitry Peskov, getting rid of signs of gratitude and memory does not honor any nation.

Dmitry Peskov stressed that Moscow cannot interfere with the implementation of this decision.

Earlier, the Estonian government supported the decision to demolish Soviet monuments. According to Prime Minister Kai Kallas, this will be done as soon as possible. She recalled that the final decision on this issue remains with the local authorities. It is they who will set the exact dates for the destruction of the monuments. Today, there are from 200 to 400 monuments with Soviet symbols o the territory of Estonia. Kaya Kallas does not hide the fact that the decision on the fate of the monuments was accelerated by the Ukrainian crisis.

Earlier, the inhabitants of Narva came to the defense of the T-34 tank monument. They gathered at the monument to prevent its demolition.
