Nebenzya: anti-Russian propaganda through the looking glass

06.04.2018

The situation around Skripal’s case is beyond the reach of any reason. It reminds the famous fairytale Alice in Wonderland by Lewis Carroll, according to Vasily Nebenzya representing our country to the UN. He made this statement wrapping up the results of the meeting of the UN Security Council initiated by the Russian Federation and dedicated to the Skripal’s case investigation.

In his words, it was important to Russia to talk about everything which is going on. At this, the Western counterparts failed to provide any information: they kept on repeating that Moscow must confess in everything and repent. Nebenzya has added that there are no facts or evidence in this case, there is nothing but speculations.

The diplomat has mentioned that now the truth is finally sprouting out with great effort. In particular, the light on this case might be shed by Yulia Skripal who regained her consciousness and is a central witness in this case.

Vasily Nebenzya has stressed out that the claims of London that all measures taken by the British authorities meet the UN Convention on the Chemical Weapons do not correspond to the facts. The Organization for the Prohibition of the Chemical Weapons is researching the samples of the poisonous agent, according to the Permanent Representative of the Russian Federation to the United Nations. The results will be revealed in several days, however, Russia will not have access to the information on the country of origin of this agent.

Moscow drew up a draft press-release of the UN Security Council, in case London and its allies fail to support it, this would mean that they are not interested in revealing the true facts on the incident in Saulsberry, Nebenzya added.
