Serbian politicians against anti-Russian sanctions

21.11.2017

Picture: World of MiraclesBelgrade has refused to join anti-Russian sanctions and is not going to support them in future, according to the Serbian Parliament speaker Maya Goykovic. She made this statement during her mutual presentation with the head of the upper house of the Russian parliament Valentina Matvienko, TASS reports.

Maya Goykovic has expressed gratitude to the Federation Council speaker for the visit to Serbia. In her opinion, this is another proof that Russian-Serbian interaction is becoming stronger in all directions including ties between parliament members. In the course of negotiations, the politicians discussed political and economic aspects.

Besides, the Serbian Parliament speaker expressed her gratitude to Russia for the clear position on Kosovo, respect of territorial integrity of Serbia and counteraction to the Serbian Parliament entering international organizations.

It is worth reminding that earlier Serbian Foreign Minister Ivica Dacic claimed that Belgrade was not going to break off connections with Russia to please US. He called stupid the US State Secretary’s words that Belgrade could not sustain good relations with US and Russia at the same time.
