Russian-Language Course Launched in Osh

15.02.2016

The Russian Center at the Osh branch of the Russian State Social University hosted a number of events last week. Namely, it launched a free three-month Russian-language course and organized a graduation ceremony for those who finished the course last December.

Russian-language courses are growing increasingly popular in Kyrgyzstan. The country’s accession to the Customs Union has proved once again how important it is to know Russian to become successful.

Most of those who entered the course are students from Osh universities, as well as school teachers, young workers and representatives of other social groups. The courses of Russian as a foreign language are popular thanks to the educators’ professionalism, new textbooks, study guides, audio and video materials.

On 12 February 2016, the Russian Center hosted a meeting for graduates of the Russian-language course that took place in December 2015. Students received their certificates and thanked their teachers and staff members of the Russian Center. “We’ve fallen in love with the Russian language and culture all over again. We’ve rediscovered Russia,” they said. Some of the graduates said they wanted to continue their education at a higher level.
