First in Space Activities in Pyongyang

The Russian Center in Pyongyang is holding a number of events in honor of the 50th anniversary of the first manned spaceflight by Yuri Gagarin as a part of the First in Space campaign of the Russkiy Mir Foundation.

From January 25 to February 1, students and teachers at the Pyongyang University of Foreign Languages had the opportunity to attend the showings of a series of documentary films – The Starts of Great Victories, First in Space and Man Returns from Space.

February 24 – March 1 there are plans to hold the Start Field contest, the Gagarin’s Constellation drawing contest,  the History of Russian Cosmonautics and a Steps toward the Future.

On March 10 the Russian Center will hold a competition of translations of chapters from Yuri Gagarin’s book The Road to Space.
