The Russian Center at Beijing University of Foreign Languages hosted on September 14 a meeting with Georgy Toloraya, director of regional programs of the Russkiy Mir Foundation. He was joined by the directors and activists of the center as well as Chinese students interested in Russian studies. A presentation of the center’s work to date was made. The students expressed their wishes with regard to the Foundation’s work in China and discussed the prospects of the Russian Center.

The Russian Center was opened at the university in March 2009 as part of the Year of Russian Language in China. The center is a key platform for the promotion of Russian-language studies in the country. Established with the financial and organizational support of the Russkiy Mir Foundation at the Institute of Russian Language, this center was the first of its kind to appear in China.
