International Theater Festival Opens in Chisinau

The first international Chamber Theater and Small Scale Productions Festival started on November 24 in Chisinau – the "MOLDFEST.RAMPA.RU".  The festival was organized by the "From the Street of Roses" National Youth Drama Theater with the support of the Russkiy Mir Foundation under the patronage of the Embassy of Russia in Moldova.

The main objective of the event, according to the president of the festival and artistic director of "From the Street of Roses" Theater, Yuri Harmelina, is to popularize the Russian language in Moldova and other countries through creative learning, sharing of experience of the actors, directors, playwrights and theater critics.

To the Moldovan capital came theatrical troupes from Russia, Ukraine, Belarus, Latvia, Georgia, Germany and Israel. Over several days, from morning until late at night, on the stage of the National Youth Drama Theater "From the Street of Roses" were presented the most diverse performances from the classical and contemporary repertoire. In addition to the festival shows, there were workshops taught by experienced directors, theatricologists and playwrights.
