St. Petersburg Hosts the Forum "Education in Russia: Traditions and Challenges of a New Time"

The sixth session of the public-pedagogical forum "Education in Russia: Traditions and Challenges of a New Time" took place in St. Petersburg on April 11-12.

School and university teachers, officials, ROC representatives discussed the proposals regarding the development of Russia's education system, the practice of cultural-historic and spiritual-moral enlightenment, methodologies of vocational training, the role of mass media in shaping the moral foundations of any individual.

Management Board Chairman of the Russkiy Mir Foundation, Dean of the MSU School of Public Administration Vyacheslav Nikonov for the first time participated in the forum as Chairman of Education Committee at the State Duma.

Ludmila Verbitskaya, Chair of the Russkiy Mir Foundation Board of Trustees and President of the International Association of Russian Language and Literature Teachers served as Chair of the Forum's Program Committee.

The forum was conducted at several venues simultaneously: Saint Petersburg University, Russian State Herzen Pedagogical University and Nakhimov Naval School.
