Russkiy Mir Representative Visits Mudanjiang

At the initiative of the municipal authorities of Mudanjiang and the Mudanjiang Pedagogical University, director of the Far East Branch of the Russkiy Mir Foundation Alexander Zubritsky made a working visit to northeast China.

Alexander Zubritsky discussed with his Chinese colleagues the possibility of creating a Russian Center at Mudanjiang Pedagogical University, a Russkiy Mir Room at the Center for Professional Training in Suifenhe City, internships for Chinese students and teachers in Russia as well as other opportunities for cooperation.

The Chinese partners, who with great enthusiasm study Russian language, literature and arts, expressed interest in the Foundation’s grant programs. The municipal authorities of Suifenhe City, which is situation on the border with the Russian Federation, are considering launching a program to teach city employees Russian language

The authorities of Mudanjiang expressed great interest in once again hosting a Russian language competition similar to the one held on June 20, 2010, which attracted many participants from the surrounding region.

The visit demonstrated the increasing interest Russian language and a strengthening of cross-border ties and cultural exchange on the part of municipal authorities in northeast China.
