Forum “Russia – India: Opportunities for Cooperation in a Multi-Polar World”

The forum “Russia – India: Opportunities for Cooperation in a Multi-Polar World” took place in Moscow October 5-6.  Participants of this conference, which was organized by the Russkiy Mir Foundation together with the Unity for Russia Foundation, the Public Chamber and Observer Research Foundation, included renowned Russian and Indian political scientists and specialists in bilateral relations between the two countries: Russkiy Mir Foundation Executive Director Vyacheslav Nikonov, Head of the Observer Research Foundation Sunjoy Joshi, Deputy Director of Second Asia Department at the Russian Ministry of Foreign Affairs Zufar Khusnitdinov, among others.

The discussion focused on issues of development of Russian Indian relations, cooperation in Energy, the situation in Afghanistan, and possible consequences for both countries, cooperation between India and Russia as BRIC states, and the impact of the global crisis on the economy.

On the evening of October 6, participants of the event were welcomed at the Embassy of India to Russia by Ambassador Prabhat Shukla.
