Lyudmila Verbitskaya: Authorities Have Begun to Listen to the Teaching Community

13.04.2013

Lyudmila Verbitskaya, Chair of the Russkiy Mir Foundation Board of Trustees, spoke at the VI session of the pedagogical forum Enlightenment in Russia: Traditions and the Challenges of a New Era on Friday. She noted that government authorities are beginning to pay heed to what the teaching community is saying.

“It is important that all resolutions, and there were five, as there have been five forums to date, are given to the president and the leadership of the government as well as to the State Duma and Federation Council. Furthermore, attention is paid to these resolutions. And this year in the president in his address to the Federal Assembly voiced a number of points which we had mentioned and which we sent for consideration, Verbitskaya said.

This year the main themes of the forum were the development of the law on education, raising the status of such subjects as the Russian language, literature and history in the education process, as well as professional education. This annual form is organized by the Center of Russian National Glory.
