St. Petersburg NGO Forum to Focus on Tolerance and Cultural Diversity

16.04.2013

The forum of nongovernmental organizations from Russia and the countries of Northern Europe that kicked off in St. Petersburg earlier today is focused on transparency and cultural diversity, Voice of Russia reports.

Full-scale meetings address the role of public diplomacy, youth policy, laws and financial support for NGOs. The participants will take up the role that culture plays in fighting racial discrimination and xenophobia.

The forum, held as part of Russia’s presidency of the Council of Baltic Sea States, is being attended by more than 300 nongovernmental organizations from Russia, Finland, Norway, Sweden, Denmark and Iceland.
