Russian and Uzbek Leaders Hold Talks in Moscow

Vladimir Putin and Islam Karimov discussed bilateral cooperation issues and the current international political situation, the Kremlin press service reports. Mr. Putin and Mr. Karimov discussed strengthening economic ties, investment cooperation, cultural, humanitarian, science and technology contacts.
 
They also exchanged views on the main regional and international issues, in particular, the situation in Central Asia. The talks then continued in expanded format.
 
The two presidents witnessed the signing of several intergovernmental documents: an economic cooperation program for 2013-2017; a cooperation program in culture and humanitarian fields, science and technology for 2013-2015; an agreement on incentives and mutual protection of investment; and an agreement on readmission.
