Russian Duo Opens Tokyo Team Figure Skating Event

The Russian duo of Ksenia Monko and Kirill Khalyavin opened the team event at the ISU World Team Trophy championship in Tokyo, Voice of Russia reports. The tournament features six strongest teams from Russia, Canada, US, Japan, France and China.

The ISU worlds are going to become a kind of a rehearsal for the figure skating event in the 2014 Sochi Olympics, President of the International Skating Union Ottavio Cinquanta said.
