Russia Weightlifters Win European Weightlifting Champs in Tirana

15.04.2013

David Bedzhanyan of Russia has won the European Weightlifting Championships in the under 105 kg weight category that is under way in the Albanian capital of Tirana, ITAR-TASS reports. His combined result after two exercises is 411 kilograms. His compatriot Maxim Sheiko won silver (404 kg) while Georgian weightlifter David Gogia took the bronze (401 kg).

The Russian weightlifter Ruslan Alabegov has successfully defended his European title in the over-105 weight category, Voice of Russia reports. His sum was 442 kilos. Ukraine’s Artem Udachin posted a similar sum, but his superior body weight made him second to Alabegov. The bronze went to the Czech Republic’s Irzi Orsag.
