President Vladimir Putin to Meet with President of Uzbekistan Islam Karimov

On April 14-15, President of Uzbekistan Islam Karimov will make an official visit to Russia at Vladimir Putin’s invitation, the Kremlin press service reports.

The two presidents will meet on April 15 to discuss the full range of Russian-Uzbekistani relations in political, trade and economic cooperation and other areas too, following implementation of the Declaration on Further Consolidation of Strategic Partnership between the Russian Federation and Republic of Uzbekistan, signed during Mr Putin’s visit to Tashkent on June 4, 2012.  
 
The two presidents will also exchange views on current regional and international political and security issues, including the situation in Central Asia and preventing the spread of terrorism, extremism, drug trafficking, and organised crime.
 
A number of bilateral agreements aimed at developing the two countries’ relations in various areas will be signed during Mr Karimov’s visit.
