Moscow International Film Festival Set to Open June 17

More than 80 films will be presented at the Moscow International Film festival which opens on Thursday, June 17, artistic director of the Russian program of the festival Irina Pavlova said Tuesday, Voice of Russia reports.

In the contest of the festival Russia will be presented by the film "Sparrow" by Yury Shiller. Among the Russian films which will be screened out of the contest are "How I Ended This Summer" by Alexei Popogrebsky which received a prize in Venice, "The Priest" by Vladimir Khotinenko, "Burnt By The Sun-2" by Nikita Mikhalkov and "The Man at the window" by Dmitry Meskhiev. 

The jury of the festival will be chaired by French film director Luc Besson. 

 A new Claude Lelouch movie "The Woman And The Men" will open the festival.
