Russian Compatriots Forum Starts in San Francisco

A forum of Russian compatriots residing in the US is underway in San Francisco, Voice of Russia reports. The forum is being coordinated by the Coordinating Council of Russian Compatriots and the Congress of Russian Americans (CRA) Organizing Committees and is scheduled for Friday, May 28 at the Russian Center of San Francisco at 2460 Sutter Street.

The purpose of this forum is to bring together Russian American organizations, businessmen, teachers, cultural, historical, religious and athletic activists, community leaders and youth representatives. The forum will provide an opportunity to meet other community and business leaders from the different cities and states of America, discuss common interests and concerns, capitalize on the experience of other Russian Americans, exchange information and network, with a focus on our youth and educational programs.

Participants will visit the Russian Center in California, the Russian culture museum, the Russian library and the publishing house of Russakya zhizn (Russian life) newspaper.
