WWII Molds Russian National Character

The Great Patriotic War hammered the Russian national character into shape, while the celebration of the 65th Victory Day will bring the nation together to secure major achievements, says Russian President Dmitry Medvedev. He was speaking when declaring open a gala concert in Moscow yesterday.

The Russian President said that almost 27 million people died during the war years when defending their Motherland. But the millions of deaths were not a lost effort. Medvedev again thanked the war veterans for defending this country unto death.
