Russian Music at Large Festival in Schleswig-Holstein

12.07.2008

The 23rd Schleswig-Holstein Music Festival in Germany will feature performances of Russian music by leading Russian musicians and conductors, reports ITAR-TASS. The festival is being held in the northern German region from July 12-31 and will include 153 different events.

“Russia is the main guest of the festival this year,” said Peter Karstensen, prime minister of Schleswig-Holstein. “Virtually two thirds of the concerts this year are connected with Russian music.”

Among the Russian participants are performers from the St. Petersburg Philharmonic Orchestra, the Mariinsky Theatre Symphony Orchestra, and the Bolshoi Theatre Orchestra.
